promise me you’ll always remember.
for the 5th summer, i’ve volunteered at the wendt center’s camp forget-me-not/camp eric dc which is a weekend for children who’ve experienced the loss of a loved one the opportunity to explore the process of grief. it’s an amazing weekend full of emotions and community but most importantly, strength.
before camp, the center and arena statge hosted their annual voices of now event and were seeking a photographer to volunteer. i signed up. the memories from the performance and the panel discussion are below. the bravery of these teens amazed me as they shared their stories of loss and hope. i left both proud of and excited for their futures. the panel – experts in the field of grief and a mother who spoke of the loss of her daughter – shared personal stories and words of comfort. they inspire me to keep serving. happy clicks!
