how we see us

every black person i know is talking about, feeling, processing and inspired to do something by watching ava duvernay’s when they see us on netflix. i wonder, how do we see ourselves and each other? recently, i wrote a poem – all at once – for my friend lee’s black faces matter magazine. it’s a beautiful collection of black men. i’ve captured a few black men, too, being themselves. their beautiful black selves. i pray we see beauty in each other, too.
